Is CHOBITS (both the anime and the manga) very innapropriete?

could a 12-year-old read/watch it?

I seen a little of the anime. (Anime are more censored compared to Manga) & the anime was kind of perverted..

Example: When Hideki tried to turn Chi on (at beginning of series) he can't find her switch so he's touching all over her body..until he gets to her.. ^_^;; XXX nothing graphic is shown though. It's rather implied.

Overall it's more romance, and a good series if you like romance and a beautiful girl.

Is it inappropriate? It depends on what kind of thing you already let them watch..

maybe you should try watching the first episode and decide if it is right for your child.

Well, some parts are considered inappropriate in my opinion, it contains some kind of "sexual content" if that's a better way to put it. I don't recommend it for a 12 year old. It does depend on how she can handle inapropriate content but I don't think I'd give my 12 year old sister or cousin something like that. The anime isn't as bad but Chii does some sexual type stuff like let Hideki 'touch' her saying he was only for her or something....I watched it along time ago, anyways the manga is not for her. But the anime might be if she really wants to watch it.

(this info is on the manga, the anime version doesn't have much violence, just minor violence)

Well, it really depends on the maturity level of the child...I read Chobits when I was 11, and I still love it,but I was able to handle all those things (nudity and sexual themes). I don't think it's really appropriate for most 12-year-olds. If they can't handle the sexual themes in a mature way,then it's not for them.

It really depends on if your child would be able to handle the content in the series. You could probably find the first book up at Books-a-million. Read through it some, and if you see it's inappropriate, then disallow him/her reading it.

like the others said, it depends how mature they can handle it. i read the manga when i was 11-12 years old and i find it funny and cute! i also watched the anime and it was okay.
